The Austrian Shade is made in shirred vertical sections. When raised the Austrian Shade rises into full poufs. When lowered, the Austrian maintains it's ruffling effect. This shade style lends itself best to Sheer and light weight Fabrics. The finished length of the shade is measured from the top of the shade to the short point of the pouf. This shade is upholstered to a mounting board, which is covered with fabric. The board size is 1-1/2 x 3/4 for outside and inside mount. This shade has a cord lock that allows you to raise and lower the shade to desired length. You can specify to have the cord on the right or left side. Mounting hardware and installation instructions are included. Soft Shades are designed to operate with minimum effort. You may need to adjust the fold slightly when you raise and lower them, which depends on the fabric you have selected. TIPS:

Swags and cascades are a dramatic treatment for windows. The swag is a drape of fabric which hangs in front of the curtains; the cascades are the elegant lengths of fabric that frame the window on either side. The more formal version is fixed to a valance board, but fabric can be draped informally over a rod as the only form of window dressing. Although the formal swags look best on tall windows, dressing full-length curtains, they can be effective scaled down to suit smaller windows.
